The Glo Staff Member​

​We don't want normal, we don't want average, we don't want ordinary. At Glo, all of our staff members are career minded and goal oriented. With a salon that offers such a wide variety of services, it's not about competition, it's about offering the client with the best experience possible. Just think: How simple would it be to go in for a hair cut and leave with your whole beauty routine tackled. It's about the client's convenience, time, and comfort. Putting the client's needs first while keeping in mind a team work attitude will always result in a positive experience for you and your customers.

As a service provider, one can choose to do the bare minimum, hang out comfortably in the middle, or shoot for the stars and strive to shine. Glo Salon's staff members are categorized in the latter. When it comes to those slow days, bad work ethic sticks out like a sore thumb while good work ethic gets noticed. A glo staff member is that service provider who is constantly thinking of ways to improve. On a tough day with little to no clients, a glo staff member can be seen scouring the streets, updating various social media outlets, or thinking out of the box to get the word out that we exist! It's not just a dream! When we're at work, we're there to WORK! A Glo staff member looks at the bigger picture, therefore realizing that the salon's success is just as important as their own success. The two work hand in hand. If something is messy, a Glo staff member doesn't ask whos job it is to clean it up, they take the initiative to do so themselves before a client notices that same mess. Because after all, it's all about the clients, because the clients make YOU. If the following words are commonly used in your vocabulary, you probably belong at Glo: "motivation, hard work, dedication, reliability, time management, organization, setting goals, completing goals, positivity, honesty, loyalty, ideas, thinking out of the box, research, dependability, preparation, education, growth, energetic, excited, READY." At Glo we DO check references, so please provide us with some that aren't just your friends or family.

The Salon

​The salon is currently home to

9 hair stylist stations

1 barber station

1 spray tanning room

1 manicure/pedicure room

1 esthetics room

Station Rent:
- First week the rent is free (or save this week for vacation days)
- Full time: $175 a week

Part time may be available but full time applicants receive priority
 

Commission:

- First week the rent is free (or save this week for vacation days)

Salon Cut: 40% a week

Service Provider Cut: 60% a week

Part time may be available but full time applicants receive priority

Terms:​

Staff member provides all of his/her own equipment including color

Salon provides towel service, backbar shampoo, free wifi, coffee and tea to clients, optional on site receptionists to schedule your appointments, iphone android app for our booking system, and a friendly positive atmosphere to work in.

Positions​

Assistant​

Assistants at glo are hired strictly on a volunteer or intern basis. The best day for an assistant to come in is Saturday as it is the busiest day of the week.

Junior Stylist​

For new talent in the hair industry, we have our Junior Stylist position. A Junior stylist is a great position for someone who has assisted as it is just one step beyond the assitant position. Assistants who are ready to start taking on their own clients and running their own schedule should take interest in the Junior Stylist position. All clients that come to a junior stylist are informed before hand and sign an agreement stating that they understand the position. What this means is that you can freely ask senior stylists questions throughout the service and learn while you earn!  Junior stylist base pricing is also 30% less than senior stylist pricing which opens the door for so many clients to give you a try.

 

 Stylist​

The stylist position is for stylists who have been in the industry for some time, but would like to remain in the intermediate price range. This position is also for Junior stylists who are transitioning into a higher price range.

Senior Stylist​

For those seasoned hair stylists, our senior stylist position is available. As a senior stylist, Glo staff members are required to know a range of hair services. We also look for someone who understands customer service and communication with clients. If you have a specialty, we want to know about it! Glo is a specialty based salon and we love new and innovative talent. There is no certain amount of time required to qualify for this position, it's all in the talent and personality.

Barber​

A great thing about being the only barber in the salon is that you'll get the only barber clients! That being said, a Glo barber is required to know how to work with many different hair types. We look at our barber position like the senior stylist position; the candidate must have an amazing personality, ability to relate to all different types of clients, and the ability to work with all different types of hair. A Glo barber is someone who isn't trying to make a quick buck doing men's cuts, but rather someone trying to give their client a true experience like they've never had before. They should be able to master all types of mens services while thinking of new ideas to stand out above other barber shops.

Manicurist​

Because we only have one manicurist in the salon, this position also requires the service provider to know a wide range of techniques. A Glo manicurist never says "I don't offer that." The nail industry is constantly growing at a rapid rate, so our manicurist should be excited and taking initiative to keep up. With that, our green beauty outlook should always be considered. Only offering the safest and purest nail techniques on the market is essential. If a nail service is going to be safe, that means it's also going to be CLEAN. a Glo manicurist is someone who is a perfectionist when it comes to cleanliness. With the nail industry having such a bad reputation on sanitation, it is Glo's goal to break the stereotype and set the standard. A Glo manicurist should take notes from the most luxurious spa manicures out there and incorporate those ideas in their work. Key words: comfort, time, sanitation, communication, learning, growth
