The Keratin Complex Smoothing Treatment is a specially formulated revitalizing and rejuvenating treatment for the hair that eliminates 95% of frizz and curl. Q: How much time should be allowed for each client?
A: Time should be determined on an individual basis. This depends on the client's hair length, type, and texture. Please allow a 2-3 hour window.
Q: What results can be expected after the treatment?
A: The hair will be more manageable and take much less time to style. It will be noticeably softer and straighter, with added life and shine as well as a lengthened look.

Q: What kind of shampoo and conditioner should be used?
A: Keratin Care shampoo and conditioner (sodium chloride free) or Keratin color care shampoo and conditioner (sodium chloride free and sulfate free).

Q: How long will the treatment last?
A: The treatment lasts 3-5 months, depending on lifestyle and maintenance, provided the client follows all after care instructions.

Q: Can the treatment be done on pregnant or nursing women?
A: No, it is not recommended. We all know that during pregnancy a woman is passing through major hormonal changes. These changes affect the structure of the hair and its growth rate. During pregnancy, hair colors do not last as long and chemicals substances may have the strangest effects. You just never know how your hair will react! Instead of a making your hair silky and straight as advertised, thermal reconditioning during pregnancy can transform it into a ball of frizz. This is not always the case, but the bottom line is: you can never know! Additionally, the hair tends to grow much faster during pregnancy due to the high levels of estrogen in the woman's body. Even if the thermal reconditioning goes great and your hair looks straight and fabulous, it will grow too fast and you'll have to repeat the procedure much sooner than expected!

Q: Can hair be colored before the treatment?
A: Yes. A great time to have the treatment done would be directly after permanent color, semi-permanent color, or highlights. The treatment will extend the life and seal the color in, leaving it vibrant. However, for demi-gloss or toners, have color done 3-5 days after treatment for optimal results.

Q: Can the treatment be done on chemically treated hair, previously relaxed, or straightened hair?
A: Yes. It is recommended to wait two weeks between any chemical services.

Q: Should the hair be cut before or after the treatment?
A: We recommend that the hair be cut after the treatment, as the hair will have a smoother texture and will lie differently.
After Care Instructions...
Do Not
-Do not shampoo hair for THREE DAYS (72 hours).
-Avoid getting any moisture in hair during the 72 hours (water, sweat, etc).
-When showering during the 72 hour period, carefully pull hair away from face with a silk scarf or shower cap, making sure not to dent the hair, or simply, take a bath instead.
-If hair gets wet, blow dry immediately and go over area with a flat iron on a low
temperature.
- DO NOT use pins, clips, hair ties, sunglasses, or do anything that may crease the hair during the 72 hour period. This can leave unwanted impressions in the hair.
-Do not color your hair for two weeks after receiving this service. You must have your color done prior to receiving this service.
Do
-Use Keratin Care Shampoo and Conditioner (sodium chloride free) or Keratin Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner (sodium chloride and sulfate free).
You must not use any shampoo and conditioner which contain sodium chloride!
-Wear your hair down for the 72 hour period.
-You may style your hair with heat (blow dryer, round brush, flat iron).
-If you go swimming (after the initial 72 hour period) in the ocean or a chlorinated pool, rinse hair with fresh water and apply a leave in conditioner prior to swimming to protect the hair from absorbing the salt and chlorine. After swimming, we suggest that you rinse your hair thoroughly with fresh water to eliminate any salt or chlorine build-up.
After the initial 72 hour period, you may wash your hair with the approved shampoo and conditioner and treat your hair as normal. You may use hair ties, pins, etc. You may still use all of your current styling products, providing they are sodium chloride free (most are). You will find that your hair is now much easier to manage, frizz free, and gorgeous! Enjoy!
